About the Show:

Meredith Willson’s The Music Man is a bright, energetic tale of small town America. Salesman Harold Hill comes to Iowa determined to con the townsfolk out of their hard-earned cash. His promises are grand: a summer of activity, reforming the boy that leads the local “gang” and a full band of the town’s boys, in uniform, with the ability to play by the end of the summer. The suspicious and clannish townsfolk are won over by his expert salesmanship and the town is revolutionized by the new hope and joy that floods their world. But Harold’s plan could be foiled by one person, the old-maid piano teacher, Marian Paroo, who doesn’t believe a word he says. As the summer progresses, Harold’s winning ways will soften even her heart. But when fall arrives, will there be a band or will Harold disappear on the the last train out of town? This crowd favorite has an unforgettable score, with wonderful songs like “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Shipoopy,” and “Till There Was You”.
