MoezArt Productions is filled to the brim with incredible people, on stage and off. In our Staff Spotlight, we feature the amazing human beings who make MoezArt successful behind the scenes…scenery…? I’ve asked them some basic questions so YOU get to know them. Enjoy getting acquainted with our staff!

Our first Staff Spotlight features Zachary Anvik, Artistic Director/Instructor/Resident Choreographer for MoezArt. He also loves doing sound and stage management, and is an incredible dance instructor. (check out Groove with MoezArt on our Facebook and Instagram to see this in action!)

Check out his responses to these questions:

Zachary, how has MoezArt impacted your life?

Oof, heavy question, it has led me straight to the thing I love to do, teach and disciple. When I was 13 I started to be a helper in classes, by 15 I was asked to be an intern, at 17 I was assistant directing and just over a year later I was responsible for making sure our students knew their artistic gifts were from God and how to use those to Glorify The Lord. I am blessed to be in my current position and encourage students daily.

What is your favorite and least favorite part of theatre? Why?

The best part is watching something click in a student’s brain, their character, why they need to do an action, what their line means, etc. When the light bulb goes off you get the best reactions. The worst part is when the show is over, you realize for some of these students you might not work with them next semester, which makes you treasure all the memories more.

What’s one quirky fact about you?

I’m obsessed with white boards and balancing things

What is your life verse, or a verse you would want to share with readers, and why did you choose that verse?

James 1:2-4 encourages us to choose optimism, not because it’s healthier but to understand that EVERYTHING is in God’s will, even the days that aren’t so nice. We need to lean into our Father knowing he works all things together for good.

Anything else you’d like our readers to know about you, or that you’d like to share with them?

My beautiful wife Rebeca also teaches theatre, and we are passionate about storytelling and discipling kids, just like our ruler exemplified on earth.

Thank you so much, Zachary Anvik! I hope you all have gotten to know Mr. Zach a little better. If you see him around at shows, thank him! Keep an eye out for the next installment of the Staff Spotlight. You never know who might show up there!
