ABOUT
THE PLAY
Big Fish* is a fantastical and heartfelt musical based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the film directed by Tim Burton. It follows Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman known for his larger-than-life stories, and his son Will, who sets out to uncover the truth behind them as he prepares to become a father himself. Blending humor, imagination, and emotional depth, the story explores family, identity, and the power of storytelling.
*The School Edition aligns with our commitment to presenting content that reflects our conservative values, with thoughtful adjustments to language and material for younger performers. It also includes updated songs—“Magic in the Man” and “This River Between Us”—which replace selections from the original production to better support storytelling and emotional clarity.
